notes
|
|
New in version 5.38 |

|
An extra button has
been added to the toolbar in the main window, which opens an FTP
settings window. FTP servers can be managed by the users in this
window (servers can be added, modified and deleted). Each Windows user
can setup their own FTP servers and default accounts.
The FTP servers setup by the administrator can be viewed, but not
modified or deleted in the FTP settings window.

|
New in version 5.37 |

|
A new feature and bug
fix for converting items to audio CD, using the dBpoweramp R12/13
Audio CD codec; Information files (XML, INF, CSV, VOL) were written
sometimes when using
the codec (dependant on settings used for other codecs), this has been
fixed. A new feature
allows a temporary directory to be setup for the Audio CD codec, this
directory is used when
audio files need to be localized to a local hard drive (when the audio
file format is different to
the file extension).
The "last modified" field can now be displayed in a new column in the
audio items listview.

|
New in version 5.36 |

|

CD codec.
The "create new" button in the codec settings, now works correctly and
the CD tracks now
include title and artist information.

|
New in version 5.35 |

A setting has been
added to allow/disallow playlist browsing in Browser32. The new setting
can be found on the "special functions" tab in the Browser32 setup
program.

|
Same as version 5.31.
dBpoweramp bug is now completely fixed.

|
New in version 5.31 |

|
Bug fix voor audio
conversions using dBpoweramp R12/R13. When logged-in as a different
user (than the installing user), the codec settings would not appear
and the conversion would not be done.

|
New in version 5.30 |

|

dBpoweramp Music Converter R12 (as well as R11.x).
New toolbar button added to open the dBpoweramp CD writer window.

|
New in version 5.27 |

|
Periods (.) in titles
would cause the wrong file to be created when converting to other
formats.
Exporting a category to a CSV file would give different results than
exporting a single title metadata to CSV, if the title contained
ampersands (&) and commas (,).

|
New in version 5.26 |

|
Support added for the
Browser32 server. The Browser32 server allows registration numbers to
be stored at a central location and speeds-up login time for the client
application.
Comment fields are now saved in the XML export files.
Selector item player stopped working in version 5.25 - this has now
been fixed.
Selector item player fix for Dalet 5.0 databases.
Selector item player now gives usage messages when run from the command
line.

|
New in version 5.25 |

|
Bug
fixed in the new Audio Converter module (converting to WMA version 9.1
failed).

|
New in version 5.24 |

|
The search bug (when
searching from the root) is now fixed. This bug (and error message)
only appeared on Sybase Enterprise systems.
The FTP context menu list bug is also fixed (more than 5 FTP servers is
now possible).
Private queues can be created and managed. Items can be dragged in to
the queues and
the item order within the queue can be changed (also using drag and
drop). The queues are saved on the local hard disk (workstation
specific). These queues can be used for preparing a lists of files to
be FTP'ed or converted to other formats.
MP3 conversions are now possible using the latest version of dBPowerAMP
(the dBPowerAMP
MP3 codec must be licenced to make this possible). Some windows have
also been adjusted to work better with large fonts.
Audio conversions are now done using an internal converter (using the
dBPowerAmp codecs). This solves a problem with files in Dalet which
have a different extension to the internal format.
A new window has been added to allow changing filenames before they are
saved, converted or sent to an FTP server. This includes being able to
set upper or lowercase and naming conventions.
Custom naming conventions for saving, converting and FTPing soundfiles.
This includes variables which can be used to build-up the name. The
naming convention type can be selected by the user ("custom" or one of
the other formats). The definition of the naming convention is done in
the Browser32 setup program.
The
software would lock-out on all workstations if the software was used on
more workstations than available in the licence. This has now been
fixed.
200+ licence works correctly for more than 200 workstations.

|
New in version 5.23 |

|
A bug
has been fixed when saving audio items with UNICODE titles to a local
disk (extension was missing from the final saved file).
Category information added to INF and CSV metadata files.
Titles_mix.crossfade added to INF and CSV metadata files.

|
New in version 5.22 |

|
It is
now possible to setup the separator character for the CSV files.
There is a checkbox
for overwriting (or not) saved and converted files in the save dialog
box.
This can be used to stop overwriting already converted or saved files.
The soundfile can be displayed in a column in the list of items.
One of the four multimedia fields (selectable) can be displayed in a
column in the list of items.
A bug has been fixed for showing private categories.
More database fields have been added to the printing window (orchestra,
composer, etc...).
Searching in databases with more than 250 categories on Sybase
Enterprise caused an SQL error. This has been fixed.

|
New in version 5.21 |

|
A new
version of the “item player” has been added to this release. The item
player has been succesfully tested with Selector V12. See the
installation manual for a description of how to set this up.

|
New in version 5.20
|
  |
ItemPlayer function
added to allow the use of Browser32 to play Dalet files from other
systems and programs which can call external programs with an itemcode
in the command line. Example command line: “c:\program
files\Browser32\ItemPlayer.exe 4567”. This function can be used with
Selector to listen to Dalet items direct from the Selector program.
The
FTP module can now convert to different audio formats (using dBPowerAMP
Music Converter) before sending to the FTP server.
There
is now better support for the conversion of audio files to different
formats using DBPowerAMP Music Converter.
Properties
window bug resolved. It is now only possible to query the proerties for
valid item types.
FTP
servers list bug solved in setup program. When the list was empty, the
setup program would save circa 20 "empty" FTP server configurations.
Files
to be sent to an FTP server are now copied (or converted) first to the
temp directory. This is to overcome file-blocking of the original files
caused by the FTP module.

|
New in version 5.19 |

|
Broadcast
reports browsing is now available for reports which are stored in the
database (for registered users only). The scheduled time, actual start
time, actual duration and clock name are shown for each item. These
columns can also be printed using the new printing functions.
The printing function has had a complete “make-over”. It is now
possible to print 10 columns of item information and the field widths
are now measured in millimeters, instead of a percentage of the total
page width which was confusing for some users. The icons used to
display the item status are now printed on the left hand side of the
printed page.
There is a new print preview window which also allows the user to
change the paper size, orientation, column widths and the item
information to be printed. The print preview window is also available
in the setup program to allow correct installation of the default
settings.
The save dialog window has been removed when "converting" items to an
Audio CD with the dBPowerAMP CD writer. This was because the save
settings were not used (or misinterpreted) by the CD writer
plug-in.

|
New in version 5.18 |

|
Viewing
playlists now work for Sybase engines other than 5.x and 11.9.2 (e.g.
Sybase 7.x).
Bug resolved for viewing the texts in a group or playlist. This could,
in some, cases return the wrong text - now fixed.
30x FTP servers can now be configured (instead of 5) to send audio (and
XML/INF metadata) files to.
Export function added to allow saving the metadata for the audio items
currently on screen (in a category, playlist or archive unit) as a CSV
(comma delimited) file. This file can easily be read into Excel, which
gives better printing and formatting possibilities.
Bug fix in search window. Apostrophes in the search text caused the
application to crash. This has now been resolved.

|
Known problems |

|
There
is a problem with MAPlayer on Windows NT. Use WinAmp (or another
player) when running NT.
The newer versions of Winamp don't play Dalet WSX standard files.
Versions up to 2.091 of Winamp can play Dalet files without a problem.
If the item counter in the status bar doesn't update while getting
items from the database for a given category, then you need the
COMCTL32.DLL update from Microsoft. This is a problem with Windows 95
and NT.
